Stop Diarrhoea Campaign-2026 launched in Thoubal

The Stop Diarrhoea Campaign-2026 for Thoubal district was launched on Friday atthe Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Complex, Thoubal, with an appeal for collective efforts to prevent diarrhoeal diseases among children.
The programme, organised by the District Health Society, Thoubal, was held at the Conference Hall of the National Health Mission (NHM), CMO Complex.
Assistant Commissioner to the Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal, Tensubam Sangeeta Devi, inaugurated the campaign as chief guest.
The function was presided over by Chief Medical Officer Dr KC Luwang and attended by ZEO Zone-III Thoubal Y Achouba, Child Health Nodal Officer Dr Kh Sandeep Singh, ICDS Thoubal District Programme Officer Th Romita and District Hospital Thoubal Medical Superintendent Dr Kh Lokendro Singh as guests of honour.
Under the campaign, around 30,000 children below the age of five years in the district will be provided Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) and Zinc tablets.
ORS-Zinc comers will be established at 54 health centres and 945 Anganwadi centres, while awareness programmes on diarrhoea prevention will also be conducted in schools.
During the programme, ORS packets and Zinc tablets were handed over to school authorities and Anganwadi centres through the ZEO, Zone-III, Thoubal, and the ICDS District Programme Officer for distribution among eligible children.
Speaking on the occasion, Tensubam Sangeeta Devi urged all stakeholders to work together to make the campaign a success and ensure effective prevention and control of diarrhoeal diseases among children across the district.
