CWPF observes Cine Off Day

Imphal, December 09 2025: Cine Writers and Playwrights Forum (CWPF), Manipur observed Cine Off Day at the Loktak Hall of Manipur Press Club today.

Organised under the supervision of Film Forum Manipur (FFM), the event was attended by Khangembam Kuleswar, chairman, FFM; Manaobi MM, president, CWPF and MCS officer A Sivadas Sharma as the chief guest, president and guest of honour.

Addressing the gathering, WPF general secretary Binoranjan Oinam said that 12 guilds/associations under FFM come together to observe Cine Off Day , wherein all film screenings, shootings and other related activities are called off for the day and the community comes together to discuss various pertinent issues.

On another note, he asserted that some newcomers, especially script writers, appear to be flouting the rules framed by FFM with regards to production and film shooting.

As such, he urged the preview committee of FFM to monitor the situation closely.

Binoranjan also shared that a script writing competition will be conducted by CWPF in the near future.

As a part of the event, a Kavi Sammelan was held with writer Ksh Subadani as the moderator.
