Imphal, October 09 2026:
The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, is organising a 6-day Breast Cancer Awareness and Screening Programme from October 12 to 17 at the Outpatient Department (OPD) of the hospital.
The objective of the programme is to promote breast cancer awareness, encourage early detection, and facilitate timely diagnosis and treatment, said the hospital in a statement.
The programme, proposed by the Department of Radiation Oncology, will include awareness activities and screening services for breast cancer.
The proposed services include free OPD tickets, mammography, breast ultrasonography (USG) screening, and fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) .
The programme aims to educate women and the general public about the importance of breast health, awareness of warning signs, regular screening, and early medical consultation.
Early detection of breast cancer can help facilitate timely treatment and improve health outcomes, said the hospital.
RIMS, Imphal, encourages women, particularly those who have concerns about breast health or require medical evaluation, to avail themselves of the programme and seek guidance from the concerned medical professionals.
Through this initiative, RIMS reaffirms its commitment to strengthening cancer awareness, promoting preventive healthcare, and improving access to screening and diagnostic services for the community, it said.
