KZC to organise public rally pressing for fulfilment of political demands

Kangpokpi, October 09 2025:
The Kuki-Zo Council (KZC) Governing Council has resolved to organize a public rally or protest to urge the Government of India to expedite the fulfilment of the Kuki-Zo community's political demands.
The resolution was adopted today during the KZC Governing Council's general body meeting held at the VTI Auditorium, Rengkai in Churachandpur district.
The meeting, commencing from 11:30 am and lasting over 4 hours, brought together 60 delegates representing all constituent bodies under the Council.
After thorough deliberation, the Governing Council adopted three key resolutions:
1. The tenure of the KZC Cabinet will henceforth be fixed at two years.
2. The existing Cabinet will continue to serve for the next two-year term.
3. A public rally or protest will be organized soon to urge the Government to expedite the fulfilment of the Kuki-Zo community's political demands.
During the first session of the meeting, the financial and organisational activity report was presented by Rev Dr GS Gangte, treasurer of KZC and Henlianthang Thanglet, chairman of KZC respectively.
Meanwhile, the delegates voiced their concerns during the business session chaired by CH Ajang Khongsai, Coordinator of the Governing Council.
