RK Kamaljit's year-long birth centenary observance concludes

Thoubal, August 09 2025: The year-long birth centenary celebration of Rajkumar Kamaljit Singh came to a close at Agartala Press Club yesterday.

He was the founder of Marup (newspaper) and a key founding member of Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Tripura.

Floral tributes were offered to the photo of RK Kamaljit during the event which began with a ceremonial lamp lighting carried out by Dushari Gopal, GS, ISKCON Manipur Development Council.

Noted singer Kshetrimayum Madhabi performed a "seihou eshei" on the occasion.

For the first time, the "Rajkumar Kamaljit Singha Memorial Achievement Award 2025" was conferred to pung artiste and Wari Leeba Maitham Nirmal Singha.

Additionally, a poetry session dedicated to RK Kamaljit was held with the participation of 18 poets.

Notable dignitaries present at the closing ceremony include Saratchand Thiyam, Sahitya Academy Awardee; Parishad president L Birmangal; editor of Marup RK Tarunjit among others.
