16 MSMEs receive first installment of Logistics Cost Reimbursement under RAMP

Imphal, July 09 2026:
The Directorate ofTrade, Commerce and Industries disbursed the first installment of Logistics Cost Reimbursement to 16 MSMEs under Component 6.3 of the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Programme during a function held today at the Directorate auditorium, Lamphelpat.
Component 6.3 focuses on Logistics Strengthening for MSMEs - Linkage Creation & Transport Facilitation.
Speaking at the event, Director ofTrade Commerce and Industries, Hannah Kahmei, said the reimbursement is being provided under the Centrally Sponsored RAMP Scheme of the Ministry of MSME .
The programme covers all 16 districts of the State and a committee has been constituted in each district for implementation.
In the first phase, eligible MSMEs from Bishnupur and Imphal West districts received the reimbursement, she said.
She added that verification of applications is ongoing and more eligible beneficiaries will receive support in subsequent phases.
Kahmei said high transportation cost is one of the major challenges for MSMEs in the State.
To reduce this burden, the Ministry launched the programme.
While the Government cannot cover the entire transport cost, it will bear a significant portion, she said.
She further stated that the assistance is aimed at MSMEs procuring raw materials from outside the State and marketing finished products outside Manipur.
The initiative will help strengthen the State's economy, and the Directorate will continue to extend support to MSMEs in the State, Kahmei added.
Officials of the Directorate, General Managers of DICs from different districts, and officials of the State Nodal Agency attended the programme.
