KDU celebrates Diamond Jubilee

Bishnupur, February 09 2025: Kumbi Dramatic Union (KDU) observed its diamond jubilee celebration today marking 75 years since its inception.

The celebration event was attended by KDU convenor, W Bobyjames Luwang, BJP Kumbi Mandal, president, Seram Angousana, Social Worker, W Shobha, INDIA Block Manipur, convenor, Ksh Santa, Manipur Ensemble Imphal, director and 3rd graduate of National School of Drama, New Delhi, Ksh Jugindro as presidium members.

As part of the diamond jubilee celebration of KDU, series of events like Spot Essay Writing Competition on the topic "Role of theatre in men's life" Spot Pencil Painting Competition on the theme "Communal harmony", Debating competition on the theme "Theatrical development can bring peaceful living" were organised on February 2, participated by the school students of Kumbi AC .

On February 6, members of KDU observed two minute silence honouring the late members and actors of Kumbi Dramatic Union.

Speaking at the event, KDU convenor, W Bobyjames Luwang highlighted the importance of drama in today's society.

He stated that drama helps express social issues and bring a change in the society.

During the event, dignitaries released a souvenir and winners of the three competitions held on February 2 were also felicitated.
