Imphal, June 08 2026:
Environmental activist Jojo Robertson continued his environmental awareness campaign with large-scale tree plantation drives and awareness programmes at Kasom Khullen and Khamlang in Kamjong district over the weekend.
As part of the initiative, Jojo Robertson and his wife planted around 50 saplings of medicinal and aromatic plant species at Kasom Khullen on Monday.
Awareness leaflets highlighting the importance of environmental conservation and wildlife protection were also distributed among villagers to encourage greater public participation in safeguarding natural resources.
A similar programme was organised on Saturday at Khamlang, where around 200 saplings were planted as part of the ongoing campaign to promote afforestation and environmental sustainability.
The Khamlang programme was attended by Rev Shangkhaning Zingkhai, Pastor of Khamlang Baptist Church, village headman Mahaiwung Shinglai, former ADC Member S Thotaseng, and a large number of local residents.
Addressing the gathering, Jojo Robertson stressed that protecting the environment, conserving wildlife, and planting more trees are among the most effective ways to tackle the growing challenges posed by climate change and changing rainfall patterns across the world.
He urged communities to take collective responsibility for preserving forests and biodiversity, emphasizing that environmental conservation is essential for ensuring a sustainable future for coming generations.
