Imphal, August 07 2025: Manipur police arrested three cattle smugglers from Khudengthabi in Tengnoupal district yesterday.

The three arrested invididuals have been identified as Hemmilen Haokip (26), Shuhao Haokip (59) and Henkholal Lhouvum (36), according to police and all three of them are residents of M Chahnou Village under Moreh police station.

From their possession, 13 cattle (estimated value around Rs 8,45,000) and one four wheeler vehicle bearing Manipur registration number were seized, said police and added that the vehicle's registration documents were forged.

Police also arrested two persons - Dangsawa Sanjoy Maring of Khulsaibung in Tengnoupal and Khoitong Premson (19) of Lamlong Khunou, Tengnoupal in connection with a motor vehicle theft from Phundrei Mamang Leikai in Thoubal.

Police said that the duo was profiteering by buying stolen vehicles from valley areas and selling them in hill districts.

One Honda Activa was seized from their possession.
