The girl students of the Assam Rifles Centre of Educational Excellence (ARCEE) at Somsai, Ukhrul have performed remarkably in the recently held NEET examination, 2024.The ARCEE recorded an impressive 70 percent success rate in the NEET Exam 2024 with 25 girls out of the 36 girls of the centre qualified for the said exam which is a matter of pride for the students and organizers alike, said a statement by the Assam Rifles.
It may be noted that the Assam Rifles Centre of Educational Excellence (ARCEE), a collaborative initiative of Assam Rifles with Axis Bank as the corporate partner and National Integrity and Educational Development Organization (NIEDO) as the training partner.
The initiative offers residential coaching to girl students of all communities of Manipur to prepare for the prestigious NEET Examination covering all facets of preparation i.e coaching, guidance, boarding, lodging, medical facilities, transportation, extracurricular activities etc in the serene environment of Ukhrul.
Apart from the amazing performance in the exam, what stands out is the fact that these girls have proved that communities can co-exist and together, strive for a peaceful and brighter future for all denizens of the state.
They have given hope to others that if one rises above community lines and just focuses on the future, everything will fall into the right place.
These girls stayed together, studied together, ate together and shared their stories with each other but did not argue on claims of their ancestry or which community started the conflict or suffered more, said the statement.
They diligently focused on their goal of becoming a doctor and achieved it; a simple yet profound approach which ironically is missing in many of us.
'The spirit of these girls has ignited a new hope and their approach could be a beacon for us.
We as proud people of Manipur should think of the future of our children which is endangered due to ethnic issues.
We should not require outside intervention', added the statement.
