National conference held to boost Centre-State synergy in media, public communication

A full day National conference on "Coordination with State Information & Public Relations (I&PR) Departments and the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B)" was held at Hall No 5, Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi at 10 am today.
Representing the Government of Manipur, Ngangom Uttam Singh, Director, Directorate of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) and Ningthoujam Roshan Singh, Assistant Publicity Officer (Press), DIPR, Manipur took part in the meeting.
The conference also witnessed the participation from Secretaries of I&PR Departments of various States and Union Territories from across the country.
Moderated by Sanjay Jaju, Secretary, Ministry of I&B, the sessions covered key topics including Sensitization and Onboarding of State/UT DIPRs on the Press Sewa Portal; Promoting Low-Cost Cinemas in India; India Cine Hub Portal; Development & Promotion of Live Event Venues and single window for required clearances; International Film Festival of India; Collaboration Opportunities for States with WAVES Bazaar and Enhancing Collaboration and Cooperation in Information Dissemination between the Ministry of I&B and I&PR Departments of States/UTs.
Attending the conference, Dr Loganathan Murugan, Union Minister of State for I&B, highlighted the significance of the Press Sewa Portal (https://presssewa.prgi.gov.in/), developed by the Press Registrar General of India (PRGI), which serves as a single-window digital platform to operationalise the provisions of the Press and Registration of Periodicals Act (PRP Act) 2023.Sh Dhirendra Ojha, Principal Director General, PIB further gave a presentation on Enhancing Collaboration and Cooperation in Information Dissemination between the Ministry of I&B and I&PR Departments of States/UTS during the meeting.
The conference also focused on enhancing synergy between the Centre and State Governments to create a valuable platform for mutual learning, exchange of best practices, and addressing challenges in a coordinated manner.
