Public-private cooperation key for better healthcare: Dr Hemantakumar

State Medical Directorate Director Dr N Hemantakumar Singh has stressed that cooperation between public and private healthcare sectors is essential to build an effective health system in Manipur.
He was speaking at the 2nd Foundation Day of Angel Children Hospital and Vaccination Centre, Uripok.
During the function, outstanding staff were felicitated.
Dr Hemantakumar noted that disease patterns are changing with modern lifestyles.
While infectious diseases were once the main concern, lifestyle diseases now account for over 50% of cases, he said.
He urged preventive care and announced that the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine is being administered to prevent cervical cancer.
Girls aged 14 to 15 are advised to get vaccinated at nearby district hospitals or CHCs.
Angel Children Hospital Managing Director Yaikhomba Taorem said raising healthy children strengthens society.
He called for better doctor-patient trust and informed that the hospital provides free treatment, lab tests and relief camp services for children displaced by the current crisis.
Khurai Genial Club Observes 63rd Foundation Day The 63 rd Foundation Day of Khurai Genial Club was observed today at Lainingthou Awangba Shanglen, Khurai Thangjam Leikai.
Founder member Thoudam Ibobi, IMC Ward 23 Corporator L Romola, and Club president Dr M Shyamjai attended as presidium members.
General secretary K Johnson said the 1963-established club, recognized as a Youth Centre under Youth Affairs & Sports, continues to serve society and shape future generations.
