Non-residential workshop on Thang-Ta concludes

The 20-day non-residential workshop on Thang-Ta jointly organised by Panthoibi Thang-Ta and Jagoi Sindam Shanglen, Moirangkhunou came to an end today.
The workshop was organised under the aegis of Guru-Shishya Parampara, Ministry of Culture, Govt of India with an aim to promote the indigenous martial art form of Thang-Ta among the youngsters and strive for a disciplined and healthy lifestyle.
Around 50 youths and children from different parts of Bishnupur district took part in the workshop which began from June 16, 2024 till July 5, 2024 with Laishram Rajen, founder of Jagoi Sindam Shanglen as the Guru.
During the workshop, various tactics of Thang-Ta and detailed information about this unique indigenous art-form were taught to the participants of the workshop.
In today's valedictory programme, the students displayed various demonstrations of Thang-Ta art form.
Speaking at the occasion, Guru Laishram Rajen said that the non-residential workshop for Thang-Ta has been conducted to impart the knowledge of Thang-Ta among the young generation to inculcate the importance of learning this artform to carry forward its legacy.
He went on to state that similar workshops will be conducted in future as well.
