Kauna-crafts captivate First Lady

Imphal, December 04, 2008: The First Lady of Manipur Kiran Jagat has expressed her satisfaction and approval of the various Kouna craft products made by the inmates of the Destitute Women's Home and Children's Ashram run by Women's Income Generation Centre (WIGC) at Thoubal Wangmataba.

Accompanied her by mother Raj Bans Kour, the First Lady today visited the complex of WIGC where and interacted with the inmate-artisans of the Destitute Women's Home and Children's Ashram.

On their arrival at the complex, the First Lady and her mother were accorded warm welcome by the inmates and staff of WIGC.

Afterward, the august visitors went around to inspect the craft products made of Kouna by the inmate-artisans which were put in display.

During the course of the inspection, the First Lady expressed her approval of the variety of products made from Kouna.

The First Lady and her mother were also presented craft products made of Kouna as gifts by the inmates.
