PIB, CBC organise Swachhata Abhiyan, Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign

In a remarkable display of community spirit and environmental stewardship, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) Imphal and the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) Regional Office, Imphal, jointly organiseda Swachhata Abhiyan and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign on Thursday.
As per a release issued by PIB Imphal, the initiative brought together staff members from PIB and CBC, along with enthusiastic volunteers from the Yaiskul Athletics Club (YAC), including Sorokhaibam Saratchandra Singh, president of YAC, and Meitram Santosh Singh, secretary of YAC.
Dr Engam Pame, Director of PIB and CBC Regional Office, Imphal, joined the participants in a cleanliness drive around the YAC ground.

Speaking at the event, Dr Engam Pame inspired collective action toward a cleaner and greener environment, highlighting its importance.
He noted that this nationwide movement, aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and paying tribute to Mother Nature, aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A key highlight of the campaign was the installation of a plastic bottle bank near the YAC ground, designed to encourage responsible waste disposal among community members.
Activities included grass cutting, thorough waste removal, and meticulous cleaning of office spaces.
These efforts not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the area but also significantly contributed to promoting a cleaner and healthier environment.
Additionally, old newspapers were collected and sent for recycling, underscoring PIB Imphal and CBC's commitment to reducing waste and promoting sustainable practices.
Indoor plants were also introduced within the PIB Imphal office premises to foster a greener environment, further emphasizing the organizations' dedication to environmental sustainability.
In collaboration with PIB Imphal and YAC, the CBC Regional Office, Imphal, successfully conducted the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign.
Participants, including staff from CBC and PIB, as well as YAC members, planted numerous trees, including fruit-bearing varieties, around the YAC grounds.
