District-level competitions held under Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign in Thoubal

Thoubal, August 04 2026: A one-day district-level competitive event under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Campaign was held at the Multipurpose Hall of Thoubal College today, with hundreds of students and teachers participating in various competitions aimed at spreading awareness against substance abuse.

The event was co-hosted by Thoubal College and jointly organised by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) Thoubal, District Administration Thoubal and the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Thoubal College.

The competitions featured dance, music, street play (Nukkad Natak), painting, elocution (debate), short film/reels, slogan writing and slam poetry.

Students from various schools and colleges across Thoubal district participated enthusiastically, using creativity and cultural expression to promote the message of a drug-free society.

Speaking to the media, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat Thoubal, Vishal Dhakad, highlighted the objectives and future initiatives of MY Bharat.

He said MY Bharat is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, committed to channelising the energy of young people in the right direction and nurturing their creativity through various programmes and activities.

He said MY Bharat regularly conducts awareness campaigns, youth engagement activities and experiential learning programmes in collaboration with government departments, providing young participants with practical exposure to the functioning of government institutions and administrative systems.

Dhakad further said MY Bharat was building a strong youth network through physical outreach and digital platforms and appealed to more young people to register with the organisation and actively participate in its programmes and initiatives.

Mementos and certificates were distributed to the winners and position holders of the various competitions in recognition of their achievements.

The event was attended by Prof A Nabachandra Singh, Principal of Thoubal College, and Dr N Ibobi Singh, President of TCTA, besides hundreds of students and teachers from schools and colleges across the district.
