College students to continue stir

College Student's Council, Manipur has said
that they will continue boycotting semester examinations until the
students arrested by police during pro-ILP protests are released.
Council convenor Khaidem Dhanachandra said that leaders
of the Council which has 22 member colleges had a two-hour
long meeting with the Deputy Chief Minister at his office
chamber from 6 pm.
During the meeting, Gaikhangam assured them to release
CC Higher Secondary School general secretary Bruce and
former general secretary of Ibotonsana Girls Higher Second-
ary School Bidyaluxmi who are presently lodged in the judicial
custody from May 25.
He further stated that despite this assurance, the Council
decided to continue boycotting semester examination as the
Deputy Chief Minister failed to give the exact time and date
for the release of the two students.
He also warned that if the two students were not released
by tomorrow then the students would launch intense agitations.
They would call off the boycott on the day when the two
students are released, he said.
He also said that the Deputy Chief Minister also assured
them to fix a fresh date for the examinations which could not
be held today in consultation with the Chief Minister.
