MSFDS invites applications for Film Appreciation Course

The Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) has invited applications for a three-week Film Appreciation Course, jointly organized by the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC).
National Film Archive of India (NFAI), and the Film and Television Institute of India (FTH) .
According to a press release issued by Sunzu Bachaspatimayum, secretary, MSFDS, the course will be conducted at FTII, Pune from June 23 to July 11, 2025, offering an in-depth engagement with cinema, including the emerging domains of independent films, digital streaming, and OTT platforms.
Applicants must be graduates aged 21 years or above.
Interested candidates should submit an application on plain paper addressed to the Secretary, MSFDS, clearly stating their objectives for joining the course.
A detailed resume outlining the applicant's engagement with film and media must be attached.
The last date for submission is June 7.MSFDS will select two deserving candidates, whose participation will be partially sponsored.
Selection will be based on demonstrated interest in film and media, academic background, research involvement, and professional experience in the film and media industry.
The curriculum includes theoretical and critical studies on the art, history, and aesthetics of cinema, addressing core concepts such as time, space, mise-en-scene, genre, and film movements.
It also features curated screenings and in-depth discussions on landmark works of Indian and world cinema, short fiction, and documentaries.
Sessions will be conducted by FTII's core faculty and invited guest lecturers.
