Maha Union Govt Hr Sec School celebrates colourful Cultural Day

The Maha Union Government Higher Secondary School (MUGHSS), Japhou Bazar in Chandel district, celebrated its Cultural Day with great enthusiasm and splendour on Saturday at the school premises under the theme "Protection, Preservation and Promotion of Culture" .
The event showcased the vibrant cultural diversity of the region, as students and staff dressed in traditional attires representing various communities.
The day-long celebration featured a range of performances highlighting traditions, customs, and heritage through activities like cultural performances, literary competition, etc .
Addressing the gathering, Principal Kl Warson Anal emphasized the close relationship between education and culture, stating that "education and culture are the two sides of the same coin and are deeply intertwined" .
He noted that one of the missions of the school is to nurture the mosaic of culture, fostering mutual respect and understanding among students.
He further reiterated that culture determines educational aims and that education, in turn, plays a vital role in protecting and promoting culture.
The formal programme began with the lighting of the candle by principal Kl Warson Anal, accompanied by vice principal Pukhrambam Sarju Singh, Kolenson, and Jomhring.
Ah Philangam invoked God's blessings upon the celebration, while Ruwndar Nunghring Anal, a lecturer, captivated the audience with a soulful musical performance.
As part of the day's celebration, various literary and cultural competitions were conducted, allowing students to exhibit their talents and creativity.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment to uphold and promote the rich cultural heritage of the region.
