BD Behring, Th Suryamukhi condoled

The Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA), Imphal has expressed profound sorrow and condolence over the sudden demise of eminent Manipuri classical dancer and recipient of Padma Shri and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award Thiyam Suryamukhi Devi.
Thiyam Suryamukhi Devi breathed her last at her residence in Keishampat Leimajam Leikai in the wee hours of June 29 .
She was 90.In her honour, a solemn was held at the auditorium of JNMDA on Monday During the event, office staff, teaching staff, artistes and students of the academy remembered the numerous contributions made by Thiyam Suryamukhi and shared the grief & pain of the bereaved families.
The gathering led by P Bilash Singh, Director, JNMDA, also observed two minutes of silence to pray for the departed soul to rest in peace in the heavenly abode.
Moreover, Manipuri Jagoi Marup also convened a condolence meeting at its premises in Lamboikhongnangkhong on Monday to mourn the sudden demise of eminent classical dancer Thiyam Suryakumari.
During the meeting chaired by H Sudhirchandra Singh, president of Manipuri Jagoi Marup, the gathering extended their solidarity to the bereaved family and observed two minutes of silence to pray for the departed soul to rest in peace.
Meanwhile, the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Manipur State Branch has condoled the demise of BD Behring, former Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and former Member of the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
In a condolence meeting held at its office premises in MG Avenue today, volunteers of the IRCS Manipur State Branch shared the grief of the bereaved family and observed one minute silence to pray for the departed soul to rest in peace in the heavenly abode.
