L Jayananda inspects flood affected areas

Imphal, June 02 2025: Laitonjam Jayananda, general secretary of TT & Frontal Organisation, NPP Manipur State, inspected the flood-affected areas of Khurai AC on Monday.

Speaking to the media on the sideline, Jayananda expressed concern over the flood situation in the State and urged the Government and relevant departments to take all necessary steps to reduce the impact of the natural calamity.

He said that torrential rains over the past few days have led to massive breach and overflow of rivers at different points, causing extensive flooding in the Imphal valley Highlighting that many residential areas within Khurai AC have been inundated, he lauded the village volunteers and local clubs who have been actively involved in evacuating and providing relief items to the flood-affected people.

He also appealed to the Government to take immediate action to help flood victims, including providing relief supplies, safe shelter, and addressing the long-term needs of affected communities.

Furthermore, Jayananda urged the District Administration to extend any possible help to the flood-affected people who are taking shelter at relief camps opened in Khabeisoi area.
