Slopeland Public School marks 24th foundation day

Slopeland Public School celebrated its 24th foundation day on Monday at the school amphitheatre located at Khongjom Saltlake village.
The programme which also included a farewell ceremony for outgoing students, was organised by the Slopeland Public School Trust.
The function was attended by founder chairman of the Slopeland Public School Trust, Nahakpam Babulin Meitei; Tekcham Gram Panchayat Administrative Committee chairman Langpoklakpam Damayenti; and Slopeland Public School principal Nahakpam Chinglemba Meitei; among others, as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion.
Dr Nahakpam Babulin Meitei said educational institutes serve as a centre of human resource development, playing a crucial role in guiding students in the right path and equipping them with knowledge to shape their careers.
He said that Slopeland Public School is committed to contributing to social change and development by imparting quality education and strong moral values to its students.
Highlighting the vision of the institution, he said the school aims to be among the top-tier educational institutions in the country and to compete with developed nations through the adoption of modem teaching techniques.
He also stated that the school currently offers academic programmes from LKG up to Postgraduate level.
As part of the celebration, various awards were presented to students in recognition of their achievements and hard work.
These included Best Student of the Year (Boys/ Girls), Best Innovator Award, Best Games and Sports Award of the Year, Academic Achiever of the Year, Quiz Champion, Master Arts and Crafts Student of the Year, Cultural Star, Best Performing Student of Agri and Eco-Green Club, Most Emerging Student of the Year, Best Communication Award, Best Attendance (School Boarding) and Overall Champion House of the Year.
The awardees were honoured with medals and citations.
Parents and guardians of former students who are now successful in different professions were felicitated with Lengyan in recognition of their contributions.
The programme concluded with vibrant cultural performances by the students, along with an exhibition showcasing various science and art models, which drew appreciation from the audience.
