MU faculty wins Best Oral Presentation Award in Thailand

Imphal, August 01 2026: Dr L Santosh Singh, Professor in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science and Programme Coordinator of the NSS Cell, Manipur University, has received the Best Oral Presentation Award at the Thailand National Sports University International Conference 2026 .

The award was given for his presentation titled "Enhancing Physiological Variables and Physical Performance of Football Players: Effect of High-Intensity Interval Training" .

Organised by Thailand National Sports University in collaboration with the Thai Association for Health, Physical Education and Recreation and the Sports Science Society of Thailand, the conference was held from July 29 to 31.Dr Santosh's research focused on the impact of high-intensity interval training on football players' physiology and performance, aligning with current trends in evidence-based sports science and athlete development.

The recognition highlighted Manipur University's growing engagement in sports science and health research.

University officials said the award will encourage more faculty research, innovation and international academic participation, and draws attention to sports science in Manipur, a State with a strong sporting tradition.
