Imphal, June 01 2024: The COCOMI Farmers' Wing (FFW), an apex body of AMPFA, KaPFA, LALLUP, LOUSAL and LOYALLUP, has appealed to the State Government to provide adequate fund to Agriculture & Allied Departments necessary for putting life back on rails for farmers in the State.

In a release, CFW stated that the widespread flood triggered by incessant rainfall in the last couple of days has taken a heavy toll of human life and property in the State.

The CFW continued that in the aftermath of the strong hailstorm which wreaked havoc across the State on May 5, rarmers have been reeling from significant crop loss, in addition to damages caused to their homes & properties.

The CFW also appealed to all the Line Departments to take necessary steps to provide immediate reports of such natural disasters or emergencies.

Highlighting that the economy of Manipur is mainly agriculture based, the CFW appealed to the State Government to consider the suffering of the farmers who have been hit hard by the widespread flood coupled with the hailstorm of May 5 and provide adequate fund to Agriculture & Alfred Departments reflecting the enormity of the calamity.
