NITI Aayog member Dr Joram Aniya visits Chandel district

Chandel, September 30 2026: Dr Joram Aniya, Member, NITI Aayog, Government of India, who holds the rank of Union Minister of State, visited Chandel district today as part of a field visit to review and interact with beneficiaries and officials associated with various development initiatives supported under NITI Aayog.

Dr Joram Aniya was received by Mamoni Doley, Deputy Commissioner, Chandel along with officials of the District Administration at PHC Komlathabi, where she inspected the health facility and reviewed the infrastructure created under NITI Aayog.

The visit included inspection of the 5-bedded separate ward for male and female patients, constructed under NITI Aayog 2020-21.She subsequently visited the District Training Centre and Library at Chandel District Headquarters.

At the District Training Centre, a tree plantation programme was also undertaken.

The Training Centre with accommodation was constructed under NITI Aayog 2022-23, while the library building was constructed under NITI Aayog 2021-22.Dr Joram Aniya thereafter visited the District Hospital, Chandel, where she interacted with patients, doctors and medical staff and took stock of the facilities available at the hospital.

She inspected infrastructure developed under NITI Aayog, including the Nutrition Rehabilitation Centre with a dedicated ward, as well as the Pre-Delivery Residential Centre for pregnant women, both constructed under NITI Aayog 2021-22.Later, at the DC Office, Chandel, Dr Joram Aniya interacted with District Level Officers (DLOs) and received a brief overview of various development programmes, including the Aspirational District Programme (ADP), Aspirational Block Programme (ABP), Chandel and Chakpikarong.

The NITI Aayog delegation included Salam Shyamsunder Singh, PS to Member, NITI'Aayog; Sh Samarendra Prakash Srivastava, Deputy Director General, DEMO, NITI Aayog; Rishabh Kashyap, Young Professional, NITI Aayog; and Ngayaipam Awungshi, Young Professional, NITI Aayog.

Dharmendra Kumar, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Chandel; Md Firoz Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chandel; Dr RK Radhesana Devi, Director (Planning), Government of Manipur; Dr RK Tombisana Singh, Joint Director (Planning), Government of Manipur; along with the SDOs, DFO and other district-level officials concerned, also accompanied the visiting team during the field visits.
