23rd RK Sanatomba Memorial Journalist Award presented

The RK Sanatomba Memorial Trust today organised the 23rd RK Sanatomba Memorial Journalist Award presentation and Memorial Lecture at the JNMDA Auditorium, Imphal today.
This year's award was conferred on Elangbam Ojitkumar @ Mushuk, reporter, IMPACT TV, for his exclusive 2025 rural reporting highlighting shortcomings and infrastructural gaps in school education.
The award carries a citation and a cash prize of Rs 25,000.A Brajakumar Sharma presided over the function as chief guest.
"Kangla Lanpung (Volume XVII, Issue I)" was also released on the occasion.
Former UN security advisor Thangjam Brojen delivered the memorial lecture on "Conflict and Insecurity: Militarisation and the Crisis of Security in Manipur".
RK Sanatomba, popularly known as Konung Sanatomba, was bom in 1963 as the youngest son of MK Khedasana and Mangi Shija.
A dedicated social activist, he served as general secretary of the Manipur National Federation and editor of Kangla Lanpung.
He passed away in a tragic incident on June 30, 1993.In his memory, family members and associates formed the trust in 2004 and have since presented the annual award while reviving the journal.
