Manipur University, IIIT Manipur sign MoU to strengthen academic & research collaborations

The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Manipur signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Manipur University on Thursday.
According to a release issued by IIIT Manipur, the MoU signed between the two central institutes focus on strengthening the bilateral academic and research collaborations with the aim to generate funding through joint research multi-institutional proposals, semester exchange programs, internships and projects for the students, joint workshops/seminars/conferences and so forth.
The MoU was signed by Prof Naorem Lokendra Singh, Vice Chancellor, Manipur University and Prof Krishnan Baskar, Director, IIIT Manipur, in the presence of Prof Nameirakpam Basanta Singh, Dean, School of Engineering, Manipur University and Dr Nongmeikapam Kishorjit, Registrar, IIIT Manipur.
Notably, IIIT Manipur is an institution under the Ministry of Higher Education, Government of India.
The institute was established in 2015 in order to develop Manipur as a preferred destination for Information Technology (IT) related manpower and industry.
Recently, the Government of India has established a 5G lab at IIIT Manipur at Imphal as one among the 100 institutions in the country which is also one of the research areas where the faculty members can collaborate and conduct joint researches and establish labs beyond 5G .
