Faculty Development Programme kicks off

A 2-Week Faculty Development Programme on "Contemporary Trends in Research Funding and Innovative Technologies for Teaching" began today at conference hall of the College of Agriculture (CoA), Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal.
The inaugural function was graced by dignitaries, including Prof Indira Sarangthem, Director of Instruction, CAU, Imphal; Prof K Nandini Devi, Dean, CoA; Prof N Brajendra Singh, CoA; and Prof L K Mishra, CoA.
As per officials of CAU Imphal, the programme aims to accelerate faculty teaching skills and research capabilities for developing effective research proposals and innovative teaching skills that benefits both students and farmers.
The two weeks long programme will feature a range of expert-led sessions, including expert talks on higher education experiences and group discussions, curriculum analysis, syllabus development, and lesson planning, guided discussions on case studies, videos, and films, hands-on training on ICT tools for blended classrooms and MOOCs.
Over 20 external institutions and experts from renowned organisations such as World Vegetable Centre, Taiwan, ICAR Institutes, IIM, and IIT have been invited for providing the expertise in this programme.
There will be 30 sessions with 17 offline experts, 2 online experts, and 2 local experts, along with 4 hands-on sessions and 1 field visit.
Altogether, 30 faculty members from the constituent colleges of CAU Imphal are taking part in the programme.
