Rashtriya Poshan Maah observed in Chandel

The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Field Office Chandel, Imphal Region, in collaboration with the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Cell, Chandel, organized a Special Outreach Programme to commemorate Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025.The event, aimed at promoting nutrition awareness and healthy living, was held at the DC Multipurpose Hall, Chandel District.
The programme was graced by Ahanthem Neemi Devi, CDPO, ICDS Cell, Chandel District as the chief guest, Moirangthem Rustam Singh, Assistant Director and Head of Office CBC Field Office, Chandel as functional president; and Pipa Tungdar Maring, CDPO, Khenjoy, attended as the guest of honour.
The outreach programme highlighted the significance of Rashtriya Poshan Maah, an initiative by the Government of India to address malnutrition and promote holistic nutrition across the country.
The event featured engaging sessions, including expert talks, interactions, and awareness activities, emphasizing the importance of balanced diets, maternal and child health, and community-driven nutrition initiatives.
Health workers, Aganwadi workers and representatives from other government and nongovernment organizations actively participated in the programme.
Addressing the event, Ahanthem Neemi Devi underscored the importance of nutrition in building a healthy and prosperous society, urging stakeholders to work together to ensure access to nutritious food for all.
She urged Anganwadi workers to work diligently to make this year's Poshan Maah successful.
Meanwhile, Pipa Tungdar Maring highlighted the ongoing efforts of the ICDS in Chandel to support vulnerable populations, particularly women and children, through targeted nutrition programs.
Moirangthem Rustum Singh emphasized the CBC's commitment to raising awareness about Government initiatives like Rashtriya Poshan Maah, encouraging community participation to achieve the goal of a malnutrition-free India.
The programme concluded with a pledge to continue efforts toward improving nutritional outcomes in Chandel District and beyond, aligning with the national vision of a healthy and empowered India.
As part of the event, a quiz competition for Anganwadi workers was conducted by Mathew SK Bengam, Field Publicity Assistant CBC, FO, Chandel and later a tree plantation drive was also carried out near the DC Multipurpose Hall.
