Yairipok rally protests inclusion of non-Muslim members in Waqf Board

Thoubal, August 29 2026: A massive rally at Yairipok denounced inclusion of non-Muslim members in the Waqf Board Manipur today.

The non-Muslim members who don't understand Islamic is highly condemnable, said All Yairipok Ulama Body advisor Mufti Nasim Ahamed during the rally.

The Government must remove all non-Muslim members of the board in the interests of the Muslims and their religion, he added.

The rally was organised under the aegis of the Joint Committee Against the Inclusion of Non-Muslim Members in the 8th Waqf Board Manipur.

The All Yairipok Ulama Body and All Yairipok Meitei Pangal Clubs Organisations organised the rally.

Locals of Phouden, Wangkhem, Singa, Bishnunaha, Shikhong, Bamol Leikai, Heitroipokpi, Malom Jaliyanbi, Kekru, Tulihal, Toupokpi, Leikol, Ningthounai Changamdabi Khun etc .

The protesters gathered at the Yairipok Azad Lampak also raised demand for NRC before Census 2027 .
