Lions Club holds multi-disciplinary health camp at Nungourok

A multidisciplinary health camp was jointly organised by the Lions Club of Imphal and Lions Club of Kakching Greater at Nungourok Baptist Church, UNBI, in Tengnoupal district in collaboration with the Nungourok Village Authority on Thursday.
Doctors, nurses and technicians from Tengnoupal and Kakching District Hospitals participated in the camp and extended medical assistance to the villagers.
According to a release issued by the Lions Club of Imphal, around 130 residents from Nungourok and nearby villages availed various medical services during the camp, including vision screening, diabetes detection, paediatric consultation, general medicine and AYUSH treatment.
Medicines worth approximately Rs 40,000 were also distributed free of cost to the beneficiaries.
As part of the programme, the organising clubs distributed Childhood Cancer Awareness pamphlets among the villagers to promote awareness on early detection and treatment.
On the sidelines of the camp, saplings were planted around the church campus, while nearly 40 saplings were donated to the Village Authority as part of an environmental conservation initiative undertaken by the two Lions Clubs.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the community, Village Chief of Nungourok, Thelphomaram K appreciated the Lions Clubs and the medical team for rendering selfless service for the welfare of the people in the village and surrounding areas.
