CADA's awareness campaign continues

As part of its ongoing effort to curb the abuse of drugs and alcohol, Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA) conducted awareness programmes at two places today.
The programmes were held at SCM English School, Singjamei-Kongba Road, Imphal East district and Arong Nongmaikhong Mayai Leikai Community Hall, Kakching district on the themes "Mayai Kaba Nisana Maheiroi Khunaida Piba Cheitheng" and "Nisana Khunaida Piba Chietheng Amasung Massibu Thingbada Meeyamgi Thoudang" respectively.
The programme held at SCM English School was graced by CADA president Hijam Priyokumar, CADA Imphal East District Committee vice president Shambanduram Inaotombi and Shambanduram Ashangbi Devi, secretary, SCM English School as presidium members.
At the event, CADA secretary general Takhellambam Geetchandra Meitei said that CADA has been conducting awareness campaigns to educate the people especially the youths/students about the menace caused by the widespread use of drugs and other intoxicants.
Expressing concern over the increasing cases of drug abuse in the State, he called for the public support in the fight against drug abuse to bring forth a healthy and developed society.
Moreover, the programme held at Arong Nongmaikhong Mayai Leikai Community Hall was attended by Hijam Priyokumar, CADA Kakching District Committee president Sorokhaibam Nena and Nongmaikhong Apunba Nupi Chaokhat Khongthang Lup vice president Ningthoujam Ibeyai as presidium members.
Takhellambam Geetchandra Meitei and CADA vice president Ningthoujam Doren also attended the programme as resource persons.
