'Khelo India Samvaad' organised at colleges

Chandel/Thoubal/Ukhrul, August 27 2026: Ahead of the Naiional Sports Day, "Khelo India Samvaad - Khel Ki Baat,PM Modi Ke Saath" was organised across districts in Manipur today.

Students of various colleges took part in the programmes, which featured Prime Minister Narendra Modi speaking to youths virtually.

National Sports Day is celebrated on August 29 every year to mark the birth anniversary of Hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.

Chandel

At Chandel, the Khelo India Samvaad was organised at the United College, Lambung.

NSS unit of the college organised the event.

The college's Principal Dr Danny Chara, Vice Principal Dorendro Takhellambam, Elite National Referee (AIFF) Thumli Joyshing Monsang, Football Meritor, Khelo India Chandel Centre Sh Marconi Monsang, and NSS Programme Officer Dr A Augustine Roel attended the programme.

My Bharat registration drive was also conducted during the programme.

Thoubal

At Thoubal, the Khelo India Samvaad was held at Waikhom Mani Girls' College and Thoubal College.

The programme at Waikhom Mani Girls' College was organised by its NSS Unit, IQAC and Department of Physical Education.

Prof H Manoranjan Sharma, NSS Unit-3 Programme Officer P Robinson, Unit-2 Prog Officer O Pratap, Physical Education Department Head Dr O Parlin and Teacher Association secretary Th Shyama, other faculties and students attended the programme.

Khelo India SAI Imphal's Judo Coach Sanathoi Moirangthem interacted with the students.

The programme at Thoubal College was organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit-I, II, III, NCC, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and My Bharat Thoubal.

The college's Principal Professor A Nabachandra Singh, Thoubal College Teachers Association president Dr N Ibobi Singh, retired Assistant Director SAI NERC Takyel Imphal Konsam Michael Singh, Thoubal District WUSHU Association president Sunildatta and My Bharat Thoubal District Youth Officer Vishal Dhakad attended the programme.

Students interacted with coaches of various sports disciplines.

Ukhrul

Mera Yuva Bharat, MY Bharat Ukhrul organised the Khelo India Samvaad at Pettigrew College, Meizailung and St Joseph College Kazar.

Over 250 students, teaching faculties attended the programme at Pettigrew College.

MY Bharat, Ukhrul felicitated Badminton Coach Hanisen Ningshen.

Ningshen interacted with the students.

The programme at St Joseph College was attended by Principal Masopam Kasar.

Footballer Reisangmi Vashum and social media influencer Raingampan interacted with the students.

MY Bharat registration drive and Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) Quiz on Sports were conducted.

The gathering took a "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat" pledge.
