DISHA meet for Kakching, Thoubal held, schemes reviewed in detail

Kakching/Thoubal, February 27 2025: Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha - Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency) Alfred Kanngam S Arthur, reviewed the status and achievements of the flagship schemes/programmes in respect to the Kakching District today.

The review meet was held in presence of Deputy Commissioner, Kakching, Rohit Anand (IAS), who is also a member secretary of District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA) .

The DISHA committee is formed to ensure better coordination among all elected representatives in Parliament, State Legislatures and Local Governments (Panchayati Raj Institutions/ Municipal Bodies) for efficient and time bound development.

The government's wide initiative seeks to promote participative governance and deliberative democracy.

Alfred Kanngam S Arthur, chaired the District Development Coordination & Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for the district at the Counting Hall, DC Office Complex, Thoubal district.

During the meet, Alfred Arthur reviewed and discussed the functioning of various schemes/ programmes of various departments.

The flagship schemes/programmes reviewed in detail today are under the DISHA guidelines issued by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.

The meeting was also attended by Moirangthem Kapajit, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Kakching, Anunay Anand (IAS), SDO Waikhong, Kherdananda Potsangbam, SDO Kakching, Shri Kh.

Ibochouba Singh, State Nodal Officer, RD & PR, officials and staff of the Kakching District Administration, District Level Officers and staffs, and other stakeholders.

Thoubal
The District Development Co-ordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Thoubal District was also held today at the Election Counting Hall of Deputy Commissioner's Office Complex Thoubal.

Chairperson of the committee, Alfred Kanngam S Arthur, Member of Parliament for Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constitution reviewed about functioning of the Ninety- Four (94) schemes/project implemented in the District under different departments for the Quarter ending from 1st April to 31st December, 2024 (1st, 2nd and 3rd quarter).

Speaking at the meeting, Alfred Kanngam S Arthur said that in order to implement the schemes successfully and to give benefits to the public about the schemes and projects the department should work in close coordination.

He said that the District level Officers should work sincerely at the grassroots level so that the benefits should be obtained by the public.

He also said DISHA meetings will be held regularly so that the functioning of the scheme can be monitored.

Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal, A Subhash Singh, IAS, appreciated the MP for convening the first DISHA meeting in the Thoubal District.

He also thanked the Chairperson for knowledge given to the District Level Officers about the implementation of various schemes/projects.

In today's district level DISHA meeting MLA, Surjakumar Okram of Khangabok AC, MLA, Keisham Meghachandra Singh of Wangkhem AC, elected members of local bodies were also present in the meeting.
