Imphal, November 26 2024:
The upcoming celebration of Manipur Indigenous People's Cultural Exchange Festival, 2024 aims to bridge differences, promote mutual understanding, oneness of indigenous communities and strengthen bonds at a time when social conflicts threaten the fabric of harmony, said the Indigenous People's Forum Manipur (IPFM) in a press release.
The Forum has asserted that the event goes beyond being a mere celebration as it stands as a call for solidarity, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to cultural pride and a harmonious future.
"This festival seeks to foster peace, unity, and a sense of oneness among indigenous communities", said IPFM.
It added that the event will serve as a crucial platform to uplift indigenous communities while preserving their unique traditions.
This festival aims to revive and reinforce that legacy by showcasing the rich tapestry of the state's traditions, including art, music, dances, and cuisines.
By celebrating this diversity, the festival reminds everyone of the enduring unity and shared identity that underpin Manipur's cultural mosaic, said IPFM.
The Forum has thus invited locals, indigenous tribes, tourists, and cultural enthusiasts to actively participate in the celebration organised by IPFM in collaboration with the Tourism Department on November 29 and 30 at Chadong in Kamjong district.
