Thoubal, July 26 2025: The District Child Protection Unit, Thoubal has issued a public notification regarding a newborn baby girl who was found abondoned near the Tentha Khunou Hao Loukhong culvert, along Moirang Palli IVR, Thoubal at around 8.50 pm on July 25, 2025.The child has been officially declared as "abandoned" by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), Thoubal in accordance with the provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act, 2015 and its prescribed rules vide order dated July 26, 2025.The CWC has called upon any individual or persons who may be able to establish a biological or legal relationship with the infant to come forward and make their claim within two months from the date of announcement by submitting valid documents of proof at any of the following offices:
i) CWC, Lamding Wangjing Bazar (contact no-7005515397)
ii) Specialised Adoption Agency (SAA) Thoubal (contact no 9612278419)
iii) District Child Protection Unit, North Block 2nd Floor, DC Complex Thoubal (contact no 700512337)

In absence of any such claim within the stipulated time, the child will be officially declared "Legally Free for Adoption" and further steps will be taken under the Adoption Regulations Act, 2022, said the notification.
