Thoubal, April 26 2026:
Voicing strong condemnation and demanding justice over a series of violent incidents, the Meira Paibis and club members of five localities of Lamding, staged a sit-in protest demonstration today at Lamding Keithel.
The protest was held against the killing of two children in Tronglaobi bomb attack, the death of three civilians in a subsequent firing allegedly by CRPF personnel, and the ambush at TM Kasom that claimed the lives of two Tangkhul civilians.
During the sit in protest organised by the Youths of Lamding, demonstrators carried placards bearing inscriptions such as "We condemn killing of civilians", "Repeal Section 43, 1967 Act", "Wipe out Kuki-narco terrorists", "Punish CRPF personnel involved in killing civilians", "Go back Central Forces" .

The gathering also observed a two-minute silence in honour of the departed souls and prayed for their eternal peace.
Taking part in the protest, a Meira Paibi leader described the Tronglaobi incident and the killing of two Tangkhul civilians in the ambush as highly unfortunate and strongest condemnable.
She alleged that the Central forces, who had come to protect the lives and property of civilians, were instead involved in atrocities against them.
Youths of Lamding convenor Laishram Joloit Singh, stated that the Government of India and the Manipur Government had failed to bring about any solution and had remained unresponsive since the violence that began on May 3, 2023, during which Kuki militants are being allegedly attacking Meitei civilians.
He further alleged that Kuki militants were being used as a proxy by the Indian Government to carry out attempts to annihilate Meitei and other indigenous communities of Manipur.
He demanded that such actions be stopped immediately and urged the Manipur Government to take necessary steps to address the situation at the earliest.
