Academic campaign launched, prizes distributed

Imphal, February 26 2025:
The Manipur Youth & Students' Union (MYSU) on Wednesday launched an academic campaign with the theme, "Pirasi Mangal Maheiroi Shingda" .
The launching event held at Manipur Press Club, Imphal was accompanied by a prize distribution ceremony of the State Level Debating Competition conducted on September 29, 2024 .
The event was graced by dignitaries, including Wahengbam Tanu Chanu, president, MYSU; Dr Chinglen Meisnam, Head, Department of Economics, Manipur University; social activist Mayengbam Amutombi and FIDM president Wahengbam Shanta.
Speaking on the occasion, Wahengbam Chanu said that the "Pirasi Mangal Maheiroi Singda" academic campaign will focus on educating young students about the history of Manipur.
She asserted that the campaign will also advocate for a healthy lifestyle for students, peaceful co-existence and unity of all the communities residing in Manipur.
Later, cash prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners of the debate competition which was conducted on September 29, 2024 in connection with the "Lamyanba Hijam Irabot Ningsing Thabum" (month-long memorial observation of Lamyanba Irabot) .
Winners of the competition in the order of merit are - Md Irsat Ali (1st), Md Talha Ruiyah (2nd); Sinam Rafi Khullakpam and Thokchom Roshan Singh (3rd) .
Consolation prizes were also presented to 15 students.
