15th National Voters' Day celebrated across State

Bpr/Chd/CCpur/Jiri/Kak/Phz/Thb/Ukh, January 25 2025: Commemorating the foundation of the Election Commission of India since 201 l,the 15th National Voters' Day was celebrated across the State today under the theme "Nothing like voting, I vote for sure".

The main objective of the celebration was to encourage more young voters to take part in the political process.

BISHNUPUR

District Election Office, Bishnupur observed 15th National Voters' Day at Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.

During the event chaired by Lourembam Bikram, Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, EPIC cards were distributed to first time voters and awards were handed over to best performing Booth Level Officers.

Following this, a Voters' Pledge was administered.

The event was graced by ADM Bishnupur, AC to DC, Election Officer Th Tejbanta Singh and other notable officials.

CHANDEL

The 15th NVD was observed from January 24 to 25 at the Science Seminar Hall of United College, Chandel.

The program was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in collaboration with the District Election Officer Chandel.

During the two days, a quiz competition was successfully conducted wherein prizes were distributed to the winners by chief guest Mohd Firoz Khan, MCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner/CEO, District Council Chandel.

During the closing function, the chief guest led a mass National Voters' pledge to uphold the democratic traditions of the country.

The event was presided over by Dr Bd Thumdal, Principal of United College, Lambung, Chandel with Dr N Munal Meitei, MFS, Divisional Forest Officer Chandel as guest of honour and teachers, nonteaching staff, students, particularly NCC cadets and other distinguished invitees.

CHURACHANDPUR

The day was observed at the Conference Hall of DC Office, Mini Secretariat, Tuibong, Churachandpur.

Attending the occasion as chief guest, Additional District Election Officer/ADC, Churachandpur Seiminthang Lenthang distributed EPIC cards to 26 newly enrolled voters and appreciation certificates to 12 BLOs.

Later, National Voter pledge was taken by the gathering.

JIRIBAM

District Election Officer, Jiribam observed the day at Jiribam DC Office located at Chingdong Leikai.

The celebration was graced by Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, IAS as the chief guest and witnessed the attendance of ADC Jiribam Thokchom Monoranjan Singh MCS, Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), 40-Jiribam AC/SDO Laishram Roshan Singh, MCS and AEROs, SDCs and Branch Officers.

EPIC cards and t-shirts were distributed to 14 newly enrolled voters.

Appreciation certificates were handed over to three BLOs for their dedicated performance.

KAKCHING

The District Election Office Kakching observed the 15th NVD 2025 at the Community Hall of DC Office Complex, Kakching.

The event was attended by Rohit Anand, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Kakching and District Election Officer, as the chief guest and Nikita Thangjam, District Social Welfare Officer and Nodal Officer of SVEEP, as the president.

During the programme, the Deputy Commissioner distributed EPIC cards and t-shirts to newly enrolled voters.

A National Voters' Day pledge was administered.

Gifts were also distributed to different BLOs of the district as a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication.

Kherdananda Potshangbam, ERO of 36-Wabagai, was awarded the Best Electoral Registration Officer Award by the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur.

PHERZAWL

District Administration, Pherzawl observed National Voter's Day (NVD) at Pherzawl Community Hall today.

The function was graced by Deputy Commissioner of Pherzawl, Asish Das as the chief guest, who also administered Voters Pledge to the participants.

One of the major highlights of the event was the distribution of EPIC cards to newly enrolled voters.

The programme was attended by Zosanglur Joute, ADC/ADM, Sangboi Gangte, Addl SP, T Khamminthang, SDC, N Vashti, DI Tipaimukh, Ramsang Infimate, Chief of Pherzawl and various CSO leaders of the district.

THOUBAL

District Election Officer Thoubal organised the celebration of National Voters' Day at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner Thoubal presided by B Lokeshwor Sharma, ADM Thoubal.

Caps and t-shirts were distributed to the attendees while EPIC cards and SVEEP materials were handed over to newly registered voters of the district.

On the occasion, appreciation certificates were distributed to selected Booth Level Officers from different constituencies.

DLOs, heads of academic institutions, campus ambassadors, political party representatives, NYK volunteers and CSOs attended the event.

The gathering also jointly took the Voters' Day pledge led by B Lokeshwor Sharma.

Additionally, the Department of Political Science & Electoral Literacy Club, Regional College, Lilong Chajing also celebrated 15th NVD at the seminar hall of the college.

UKHRUL

At Ukrul, the District Election Office organised the event at the district headquarter today.

Speaking on the occasion, the DEO/DC of Ukhrul Kengoo Zuringla, IAS, educated the gathering especially the young students and encouraged them to register their names in the election portal when they are about to reach 18 years so that they will be eligible to get their EPIC card as soon as they become 18 years old.

During the occasion EPIC cards were distributed to six youths from the district.

Awards were conferred to three best Booth Level Officers, namely, AS Upperson, Thothor Muinaoand Wungramchan Shaiza.

Later, the gathering took a pledge to vote in every election fearlessly and without being influenced by considerations of religion, race, caste, community, language or any inducement.

Caps and t-shirts were distributed to the participants.

SP of Ukhrul Karthik Maladi, IPS, Kajaigai Gangmei, MCS, ADM and ZEO Thaimei Badan also graced the event.
