Farmers' body appeals for swift distribution of winter crop seeds

Thoubal, November 23 2024: Loumigee Thouna Farmer Producer Company, Ingourok has urged the State Agriculture Department to proceed with the yearly distribution of winter crop seeds to farmers.

Every year the Agriculture Department distributes seeds for cultivation of Rabi crops after the harvesting of Kharif crops is done.

However, this year, the winter crop seeds have not been distributed even as the month of November is close to ending, causing worry among the farmers of Thoubal district, said a press release issued by Loumigee Thouna Farmer Producer Company, Ingourok.

The farmers are fearfull that they might not be able to plant the crops on time if the distribution of winter crop seeds continues to be delayed.

Thus, Loumigee Thouna Farmer Producer Company has appealed to the relevant authority to distribute seeds for cultivation of Rabi crops on time.
