The ceremony was held at the CPI Bishnupur District Council office Open Bhavan at Khwairakpam.
The solemn ceremony was kicked off with the unveiling of the newly constructed bust of Jana Neta Hijam Irabot and offering of floral tributes.

As a part of the ceremony, shawls were distributed to 21 CPI leaders from Bishnupur district who have dedicated their lives to the party and its welfare.
Addressing the gathering, L Thoiren, State secretary, CPI Manipur stated that the party was established in Manipur with the goal of ushering in a people-centric Government based on the concept of the public being the true masters.
Stating that the public still have not had a real taste of democracy, he added that they have also neither accepted their role in the Government, nor their duties.
Stressing on the prevalence of "high command culture", he pointed out that a majority of the political parties have not succeeded in highlighting the true nature of democracy to the people.
CPI exalts the principle of "democratic centralism", gives all sections of people the right to speak their mind and prioritizes collective decision, he said.
He urged everyone to work together to bring about a democratic, patriotic and secular social system.
Meanwhile, Dr M Nara stated that "culture" can bring everyone onto a common path.
It is time to adopt the idea of unification and stand against human oppression, discrimination so that people can live in harmony, he added.
Further, he advocated to bring reforms in the electoral system and electing of people's representatives without indulging in corruption.
