IMASEM celebrates 3rd Foundation Day

The Indian Medical Association South East Manipur (IMASEM) celebrated its 3rd foundation day today with a Continuing Medical Education(CME) programme on "Communicating The Communicable Diseases" .
It was attended by Dr Chambo Gonmei, Director Health Services, Govt of Manipur as chief guest, Dr Y Ashok Kumar, Vice-president IMASEM as president Dr Y Nokul, Chief Medical Officer Thoubal, Dr Th Rajen, Chief Medical Officer, Kakching, Dr Simpson Sareo.
President IMA Manipur State Branch (IMAMSB), Professor Dr RK Lenin, former President of IMAMSB and Dr Nongmaithem Nabakishwor, Retd CMO of Chandel as guests of honour.
Speaking at the event, Dr Chambo Gonmei, Director of Health Services stated that under PM Development Initiative for North East Region (PM-DevINE), Super Speciality Block and Non-communicable Diseases (NCD) Block for the district of Ukhrul, Senapati, Tamenglong, Chandel and Jiribam will be set up soon.
If these projects are completed, the health sector of Manipur will be on par with the rest of the Nation.
He also stated that the construction of Blood Bank and Trauma Care Centre for the district of Chandel, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Ukhrul and Noney are also underway, and will be inaugurated soon.
The construction of District Hospital at Mayang Imphal is almost 60 to 70 percent completed and will be inaugurated soon and a new Cancer Hospital will be added at Thoubal District Hospital.
The hospital will also be upgraded soon as a Medical College, said Gonmei.
Such development processes undertaken at remote areas of the State will help in uplifting the health care facility of the State and in providing quality health care service, said Gonmei.
