Imphal, September 22 2010: General secretary of Ima Leimarol Apunba Lup, Churachandpur, Sanasam ongbi Muktaleima has been arrested with a 9 mm pistol by a team of Imphal west police from near the gate of Johnston Higher Secondary School as a sympathizer of the RPF.

Imphal SDPO Ibomcha said today that 38-year old Sanasam ongbi Muktaleima wife of S Sovamenon, a resident of Wangijng Sorokhaibam Leikai presently residing at Duphailen village of Churachandpur was apprehended by women police personnel at about 5.30 pm yesterday.

She was apprehended when police personnel in Imphal city were alerted with the specific information that a women cadre of RPF/PLA was on BT road for purposes related with the outfit's activities.

Muktaleima was detained when she was seen moving in a suspicious manner on the road and on being searched, the women constable recovered from her bag the small arm without bullets.

She is the general secretary of the Ima Leimarol Apunba Lup, Churachandpur branch.

She has been in touch with the RPF/PLA for the past around three years.

The SDPO alleged she was engaged in passing information related with the movement of security personel to the outfit.

In carrying out this work she tork advantage of being a leader of a women civil body.

The arm she was carrying was to be handed over to a cadre of the outfit operating in Imphal area for using during the raising day celebration of RPF/PLA.

She was acting under the instruction of the higher authority of the outfit, the police officer alleged.Officer in-charge of the Imphal police commando unit was also present in the press briefing held at North AOC police commando office today evening.

Meanwhile, three activists of two different underground outfits, two KYKL (MDF) and one KCP (MC) were apprehended in separate counter insurgency operations during the last 24-hours.The two KYKL (MDF) identified as Thokchom Binita Singh (42) son of Ibohal of Heirok Part-III, Kaboleikai and Moirangthem (o) Ibechoubi (26) wife of M Itaoba @ Puremba @ Rohit @ Lily of Nongpok Sanjenbam Baruni Chingkhong presently residing at Wangjing Awang Leikai were nabbed by Thoubal Police Commandos in a joint operation with troops of 28 Assam Rifles from Heirok area yesterday around 2.30 am, a statement of Thoubal Senior SP, Clay Khongsai said.

The lone KCP (MC) activist has been identified as Kakchingtabam Boby @ Ingobi (35) son of late K Abhiram of Moirangpurel Mayai Leikai.

He was apprehended by a team of Imphal east police commandos from Kongpal Iranpham bridge yesterday at about 8.30 pm, a statement of Imphal east SP, Th Radeshyam said.
