Monday Market in Senapati in a total disarray

Imphal, July 22 2011: Sports Minister DD Thaisii today expressed dissatisfaction on the poor quality of the construction work of the Monday Market, a multi crore project of the PWD through the Tribal Development and the Sports Gallery at Khabung Kharong of Karong Sub Division.

Angry with the poor quality in construction, DD Thaisii today asked to redo the construction work from scratch.

The Minister was on a one day visit in Senapati district to inspect the construction work being taken up there along with Health Minister L Jayentakumar, Director Manipur Development Society Y Ningthem and other officials.

He first visited the construction site of Monday Market at Senapati Keithel.

Surprised over the non completion of the market shed, the minister told the people of the area that the market shed will be constructed again after demolishing the previous constructed parts.

Later he visited the sports complex site where construction work is being undertaken.

Finding the lack of quality control in the construction of the gallery, the minister also assured to the reconstruction of the gallery.

However, the minister expressed satisfaction with the construction of Indoor Stadium and its quarters.

The Minister said that appropriate actions will be taken up against those contractors responsible for the poor construction works in the market sheds and sports complex.

He also said that construction of sports complex in other districts of the state are almost complete.
