Sagolband MLA boosts local infra with school building, halls, and Temple inaugurations

Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo Singh inauguratedkey community and educational facilities over the weekend, underscoring his commitment to transforming local infrastructure amid ongoing development pledges.
Today, RK Imo opened the Wahengbam Leikai Multipurpose Hall and Government Junior High School's new building, built at Rs 1.40 crore.
The project was funded by the Government (Rs 60 lakh) and MLA Local Area Development Fund (Rs 80 lakh).
The building has a community hall on the ground floor and classrooms upstairs, replacing a rundown structure previously used as a polling station.
"The upgrade ensures seamless operations for education and community events", RK Imo said, noting prior handovers like a double-storey Recreation Hall in Wahengbam Leikai and drinking water facilities across Sagolband.
Yesterday, the MLA presided over the completion function for the renovation of the Keishamthong Khul Community Hall yesterday, which involved replacing old CGI sheets with new durable roofing sheets at an estimated cost of Rs 5.5 lakh under the MLALAD.
On Friday, RK Imo inaugurated the Shree Shree Radha Govinda Pao at Sega Road Takhellambam Leikai, a project completed at an estimated cost of approximately Rs 4.3 lakh.
The MLA dedicated the Temple to the people, expressing hope for prosperity and good fortune.
During the event, the MLA addressed several local development initiatives: construction of a community hall with a badminton court to be completed within a year, blacktopping of Sagolband roads to resume soon, and a Water ATM to be inaugurated at Kwakeithel Leimakhujam Leikai for clean drinking water.
The events drew corporators, social workers, and residents, who hailed the initiatives for enhancing education, recreation, and quality of life.
