45th SAC meeting of ICAR-KVK Imphal West held

Imphal, January 22 2025: The 45th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting of ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Imphal West was held today at the Conference Hall of Loktak Farmers Training Hostel, ICAR Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat Imphal.

According to a release issued by ICAR-KVK Imphal West, the meeting aimed to deliberate on the Action Plan for 2025 and review the achievements of 2024 .

The event commenced with the registration of participants, followed by a welcome speech by Dr Laishram Kanta Singh, Senior Scientist-cum-Head of ICAR-KVK Imphal West.

Distinguished speakers included Samson Huidrom, Assistant Commissioner of Imphal West; Dr AK Singha, Principal Scientist, ATARI Zone VII, Umiam; Dr S Basanta Singh, Nodal Officer, ICAR-KVK Imphal West; and Dr Ramgopal Laha, Head of Regional Centre, ICAR Manipur Centre.

Key presentations were delivered by KVK experts on the Action Plan for 2025 and the Annual Report for 2024 .

Dr Laishram Kanta Singh presented the overall strategy for the coming year, while Dr Ch Roben Singh and Dr Lydia Zimik, Subject Matter Specialists (SMSs) in Agronomy, detailed the activities and outcomes.

Additional insights were shared by Salam Gunamani Singh, SMS (Plant Breeding), and Dr Th Motilal Singh, SMS (Agricultural Economics/Extension).

The meeting witnessed an engaging discussion involving scientists, progressive farmers, representatives from line departments, and ICAR staff.

A total of 50 participants contributed to refining the action plan to address the agricultural needs of Imphal West district.

The SAC reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing agricultural productivity and farmer welfare through innovative practices and collaborative efforts in the coming year.
