One-day mental health and psycho-social support clinic for IDP children held at Kakching

Kakching, October 21 2025:
A one-day Mental Health and Psycho-Social Support clinic for Internally Displaced Children, currently sheltering at relief camps in Thoubal and Kakching Districts was held on Sunday at Angaan Ching Eco Park in Kakching District.
The programme was organised by Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) in collaboration with Department of Psychiatry & Clinical Psychology, RIMS, Imphal; Department of Social Welfare; District Child Protection Unit (Kakching) and Child Welfare Committee (Kakching).
The programme was graced by Keisham Pradipkumar Singh, chairperson MCPCR; K Saroja Devi, Deputy Director, Social Welfare Department; Naorem Kumari Devi, Chairperson, Child Welfare Committee, Kakching; Dr H Gojendro Singh, Head of Department, Department of Psychiatry RIMS; Dr Sameeta Ng, Head of Department, Department of Clinical Psychology, RIMS and Dr Wahengbam Rebecca, Department of Clinical Psychology, RIMS as presidium members.
Speaking at the function, Keisham Pradipkumar highlighted the significant and positive developments taken place over the past two and half years.
Hoping that more positive developments will take place in the future too, he urged all to actively participate in the clinic to place their trust in the visiting doctors from RIMS.
He further informed that similar clinics have also been organised earlier in Imphal East and Bishnupur Districts.
Addressing the participants present at the event, he encouraged them to always have a positive approach and hope for more.
He also shared his positive experiences with the participants.
The main highlight of the programme was the screening and counseling of psychosocial and mental health of the children by doctors from RIMS, Imphal.
A total of 27 children from 10 different relief camps located in Kakching and Thoubal Districts took part in the programme.
As part of the programme, Agar saplings were planted within the premises of Angaan Ching Eco Park.
Later, a drawing competition was organised for the participating children.
