STAR Education organises ZEO Conclave

Imphal, August 21 2024: STAR Education on Wednesday organised a 1-Day ZEO Conclave at the Imperial Hall of Classic Grande, Chingmeirong.

The conclave began with the felicitation of the participating ZEOs by STAR Education.

Speaking on the occasion, STAR Education, Policy & Partnership Director, Sunny Chungkham said that STAR Education is a flagship programme under the "School Fagathansi Mission" of the Government of Manipur to transform the education system of Manipur through excellence in teaching and learning in classrooms, ensuring strong learning outcomes for children and better growth for the State.

He asserted that the conclave was organised to update the ZEOs of the 16 districts of Manipur about the district-wise progress made by STAR Education in the last two and half years.

"STAR Education has increased the fluency outcomes of the students enrolled under the programme.

There is an increase of 8,200 students from the beginning of the programme till date", said Sunny while adding that the programme is currently implemented in 511 schools across the State.

He continued that the programme is set to expand to new schools, and increase the rate at which its methodology is effectively being used by school leaders and teachers.

He also mentioned that since the present conflict began on May 3, 2023, STAR Education has been providing its services to the displaced students taking shelter in relief camps.

Further, Sunny expressed his appreciation to the State Government and the public for their support and cooperation.
