MAMPIL celebrates 8th foundation day

The 8th foundation day celebration of Moirang Apunba Meira Paibi Ima Lup (MAMPIL) was held on Thursday at INA Martyrs' Memorial Hall, Moirang Kangla.
It may be noted that MAMPIL is an apex body of meira paibi lup of Moirang formed with the aim to foster unity and progress in Moirang.
The programme commenced with paying floral tributes to the departed members of MAMPIL.
President MAMPIL Konjengbam Padamabati Devi; President AMUCO Sorokhaibam Shanjoy; Convenor Campaign for Just & Fair Delimitation Manipur and president CCSK Jitendra Ningomba; Co-convenor COCOMI and Advisor MAMPIL Yumkhaibam Surjitkumar Khuman and president Kege Moirang Kendra Apunba Lup (KEMKAL) Phairembam Singhajit graced as the presidium members of the programme.
As a part of the programme, MAMPIL felicitated six individuals from Moirang AC who have achieved outstanding feats in different fields by presenting a citation and a shawl.
Speaking at the occasion, the dignitaries highlighted the importance of the role of meira paibi in the core issues of Manipur.
In accordance with the demand for update of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) before Census, the dignitaries stressed its significance for the protection of the indigenous communities of Manipur and called for concerted efforts to demand for its implementation for the welfare of the State as a whole.
The dignitaries further stated that the Government of India should take up concrete measures and draft a proper policy for updating NRC before Census in Manipur.
