Ema Mongol, Thoudam Manihar condoled

The Kha Nongpok Apunba Meira Paibi Lup (KHAMP AL), a unit of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibee Apunba Manipur (PLMPAM) has expressed deep sorrow and condolence over the untimely demise of Ema Warokpam Mangol.
In a release, KHAMPAL informed that Ema Mangol, a prominent leader and lifetime president of Nupee Khunai Meira Paibee and advisor of PLMPAM, passed away on August 9 due to an illness.
Ema Mangol was a key figure in the women's movement against drugs and human rights violations.
Throughout the 1980s, she was at the forefront of protests and advocacy efforts addressing the challenges faced by the society.
She also played a crucial role in mobilizing women's organisations against the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA).
The KHAMPAL also shared the grief of the bereaved family and prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace in the heavenly abode.
Meanwhile, the Indigenous People's Association of Kangleipak (IPAK) has also expressed profound sorrow and condolence over the demise of senior advocate Thoudam Manihar Singh.
He passed away on August 11 .
In a release, IPAK informed that Thoudam Manihar was the former advisor of IPAK and Federation of Regional Indigenous Society (FRIENDS) .
IPAK also convened a condolence meeting on August 17 to mourn the demise of Thoudam Manihar.
The gathering shared the grief of the bereaved family and observed two minutes silence to pray for the departed soul to rest in peace.
